About Me

Alright, I’m a typical nerd.  I can be very opinionated and love to play devil’s advocate.  The 3rd Side simply means that you look at something from all angles and give an open minded viewpoint.  I could easily have these posts state that if you don’t agree then you’re wrong, but then I’d be like everyone else out there.

If you read between the lines, you can see where my loyalties lie on most topics.  I’ll even admit that I may be wrong, then again, I may not :)   All I want to do is give the range of opinions I’ve been privy to and provide a little insight into each option or view.

As far as more personal information, I live and breathe computers and music.  I’m currently pursuing a freelancing career.  You can see some of the articles I’ve written by checking out my Writer’s Rare Dream blog and the My Works link in my blogroll.  I didn’t really like the whole “real world” job thing, so it’s time to find something I do enjoy.

I play piano and am learning guitar and harmonica.  In my spare time, I like to learn everything I can about programming and networking.  I’ve earned two AAS in Computer Science and plan to start my Bachelor’s soon.  I have a wonderful man in my life that supports me in all my sometimes crazy endeavors.  He’s a nerd just like me, so it works perfectly.  Hopefully he’ll start posting soon.  I’m certain everyone would enjoy his rants.

I have three other blogs in addition to this one.  One is for personal and technical posts, one contains random poetry and stories and original haikus, and the other is for writing tips and promotion.  You can see the links on my blogroll.  Be warned, all of my blogs are completely different.  If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave comments.

Just read your Helium article about “smoking in public places” and I’m impressed that a non-smoker is tolerant enough to forgive the foibles and bad habits of others. It’s a rare quality, these days, and one can only hope your comment will inspire others to be more forgiving of those whose beliefs and tendencies aren’t in perfect alignment with a grandious ideal of human behavior.

    Thank you for your thoughts.
    Mike Patrick
